Morals or Economics? Institutional Investor Preferences for Corporate Social Responsibility.Henry L. Petersen & Harrie Vredenburg - 2009 - Journal of Business Ethics 90 (1):1-14.
This article presents the results of a study that analysed whether social responsibility had any bearing on the decision making of institutional investors. Being that institutional investors prefer socially aligned organizations, this study explored to what extent the corporate actions and/or social/environmental investments influenced their decisions. Our results suggest that there are specific variables that affect the perceived value of the organization, leading to decisions to not only invest, but whether to hold or sell the shares, and therefore having a (...)

    Memory.Henry L. Roediger & Lyn M. Goff - 1998 - In George Graham & William Bechtel, A Companion to Cognitive Science. Blackwell. pp. 250–264.
Memory is a single word that refers to a complex and fascinating set of abilities which people and other animals possess that enables them to learn from experience and retain what they learn. In memory, an experience affects the nervous system, leaves a residue or trace, and changes later behavior. Types of memory are tremendously varied; so, too, are the techniques used in cognitive science to investigate them. The aim of the present chapter is to give an overall sense of (...)

Investigating Philosophy: A Holistic Introduction to its Heritage, Traditions, and Practices.Henry L. Ruf - 1987 - Upa.
Beginning philosophy students are introduced to the world of philosophy by being presented with an historical and systematic study of the issue of absolutes as it has been dealt with by classical and contemporary, Western and Asian philosophers. The book focuses primarily on the central issue of contemporary philosophy: Are there any absolutes? Also emphasized is the importance for all people to do their own philosophical investigation of themselves and their world.

    Neuroimaging.Randy L. Buckner & Steven E. Petersen - 1998 - In George Graham & William Bechtel, A Companion to Cognitive Science. Blackwell. pp. 413–424.
A growing number of scientists have become interested in the relation between cognitive processes and their biological basis. This growth in interest has led to the creation of a subfield within psychology called cognitive neuroscience, which has now spawned its own scientific journal, a conference, and several graduate programs around the United States. One reason for recent enthusiasm is the development of several methods that allow researchers to observe brain activity in healthy, awake subjects while they perform cognitive tasks. These (...)
